Darling Vintage is an online vintage apparel boutique that focuses on prints, vintage items with modern versatility, and minimalist style. Diane of Oakland, CA, owner of the shop, combs all the wonderful bay area thrift’s for one-of-a-kind items to feature in her store. Came across this really cool vintage clothing store called 86 Vintage, and fell in love with some of their stuff.  86 Vintage offers one of a kind items that have all been handpicked,  from old concert tee’s to gypsy floral tops. If ever there were to be a pair of shorts that could communicate a hundred different messages just on the mere fabrics and embellishments of the piece of clothing itself, it would definitely come from Runwaydreamz. Christian Yasser Massuh, the creative genius behind Runwaydreamz, reinvents the “wild child” aesthetic through each unique pair of shorts, which, by the way, are all handmade, meaning that originality literally bursts at the seams. Tattered and torn, dyed wild hues, studded to perfection, and even bearing the American flag, Runwaydreamz shorts are sure to make a statement. Plus, the highwaisted/vintage design of the shorts are always a cool spin on regular cut shorts found in retail shops.

Amazing floral robe!

Though it’s not a new concept – well really, if you come to think about, everything in fashion is just a reinterpretation of previous eras and designs – Bohemian anything has really earned its rep as one of those genres that never wither (and by “never wither,” I mean that repeats of insane 80s shoulder pads to the point where they make you look like a football player will most likely seize from nudging its way into every day conventionalism).

These are not a collaboration between Vans and Hermés. They are in fact custom slip-ons that were produced by Vans for the celebrity stylist Robert Verdi. Verdi asked Vans if they could take his vintage Hermés scarves and turn them into shoes, so they happily obliged. via HUH

Unstructured structure. That’s as best I can do at forming a conclusion to the Coinonia Fall 2011 Collection. Oh yeah, there is another, probably more relevant word to describe it, and that is the word, “awesome.” Toss out your current perceptions on Spring fashion and let your mind wander to the season of Fall, where dark colors, heavy jackets, and the much needed alleviation prevails through sheer fabrics and color pops, in the collection’s case, specifically speaking. The addition of chains is also another fantastic addition to the garments. So maybe being decked out like this is a bit impractical, but take the notion that leather, sheer, and simplicity never die. Throw on your fave footwear, some denim, and your own accesories and you’re good to go.
